Wheel & Wire is a small workshop based in the West Midlands. We collect as little personal information as we can get away with. This page explains what we do collect, why, and what your rights are under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Wheel & Wire Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Workshop and correspondence address: West Midlands, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal information you give us through this site, by email, or in person at the workshop.
What we collect
When you send a commission brief or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name and email address.
- Your phone number, if you give it to us.
- Vehicle details — marque, model, year, past modifications, and the work you're interested in.
- Anything else you choose to write in the message field of the commission form.
We do not ask for, store, or process payment card details on this site. Deposits and invoices are handled by our bank and accounting provider.
Why we use it
Vehicle and contact details are used to reply to your brief, prepare a quote, and book the work in. If you become a customer, we keep the job sheet so we know exactly what was fitted to your car if you come back to us later — useful for warranty work and re-trims.
The lawful basis is contract (taking steps to enter into a contract with you) or, where you have just sent a general enquiry, our legitimate interest in answering it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted after 12 months. Customer job sheets and invoices are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC accounting requirements, then deleted.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business — email, accounting, and website hosting. They process your data on our instructions only and are based in the UK or EU, or are covered by an adequacy decision.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass your details to third parties for marketing.
Cookies
This site uses only essential cookies needed to load the page and remember your filter selections. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@wheelandwireuk.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Social media
Linking out to our Instagram or TikTok takes you onto those platforms, which have their own privacy policies. We can see basic public follower stats — that's it.
